Mole scanning is used to record a close up photo of moles on your skin that the doctor has identified as suspicious after a full skin check. This photo record is kept in our secure computer and is compared when you return for another Mole Scanning appointment.
This is an accurate way of monitoring any change in your moles. This is not for every patient, generally it is used on those with multiple lesions to give a roadmap to trace historical changes.
It is important that after your first Mole Scan that you return for another appointment in three to six months so that the comparison can be made. Failure to do so can expose you to the possibility of Melanoma. This service is bulk billed.
